The Making of the Konkani Audio
"BABY, You’re My Love"
The making of “Baby, You’re My love”, a Konkani Album with an edge off the rest; was a convergence of the Titans of two musical worlds, Bollywood and the Goa Music Industry. The album’s completion marked another day in history of a unique and distinctive creation of Goa’s new Konkani euphonious creation.
Slated for release in early May, this album was recorded in Mumbai and Goa with India’s legendary musical prodigies, the likes of Sudesh Bhosle, Sadhana Sargam and Goa’s very own Pop Sensation, Olavo Rodriguez (O’luv). The recording of the album was performed and executed at Sudesh Bhosle’s studio in Goregaon, where the team, with their brilliant expertise, had a very productive time sharing their ideas and suggestions towards the album’s melodious compositions.
O’luv for the first time, shared his musical space with Bollywood icon and mimic maestro, Sudhesh Bhosle, known for his ability to mimic the one and only Amitabh Bachchan, the great Music Directors and Singers Late R. D. Burman and Kishore Kumar. Sudesh, a Mother Teresa Millenium Award Winner (2008) for his contribution to the music industry; needs no introduction for his remarkable accomplishments. The two sensations (Sudesh & O’luv) brilliantly executed, in their own distinctive styles, the modulation of their duo “Tension”, adding variations and exciting twists, making it a perky and catchy tune. “Tension” will also apparently be the only konkani rendition with inimitable adaptations in four different languages, Konkani and English, sung by O’luv and Hindi and Marathi, sung by Sudesh.
The title song of the album, ‘Baby You’re My Love’, is O’luv and Sadhana Sargam’s perception and phenomenal take on the dreamy romantic number. Sadhana Sargam, a renowned Bollywood fame, national award winner and winner of many awards, the iconic nightingale who gave us many rhapsodic hits in movies such as Water, Swades, Saathiya, Sapnay, Lagaan, Doli Sajake Rakhna, 1947: Earth, Jurm, Kalaakar, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Mohra, Phir Teri Kahaani Yaad Aayi, Maqbool, Kyun! Ho Gaya Na, among many others. She has also rendered her voice to Tamil and Kannada Films. In an interview in May 2007 while touring in the USA, the most celebrated composer of the Indian music industry, A R Rehman, complimented Sadhana Sargam, calling her the only Indian singer who could surpass his expectations in her renditions of songs.
Both Sudesh and Sadhana enjoyed the experience of working with Elick and his team from Goa and both look forward to working again in the near future. Sudesh and Sadhana, claimed to have enjoyed their experience of working with O’luv and expressed their desire to do more fruitful and prolific work with our Goan bright spark, O’luv, in the near future and both concluded by applauding the wonderful music and lyrics of the album.
The album also includes songs by other singers like Sharon, Deepika, Agostinho, Mini Mario and Elick. Another special attraction has been added to this album sung by O’luv , the speciality being O’luv playing the COMB as an musical instrument, for the first time ever in this song.
Ashish was the Recordist in Mumbai’s Shruti studio in Goregaon, while Johnny Pereira in Goa’s Exodus studio in Navelim Goa. Music and lyrics for the album were originated and created by Elick. The album is produced by A. Ferns Music Co.; Agostinho Fernandes, the CEO of A. Ferns Music Co., though disabled and incapacitated from birth due to a Polio attack, went out of his way and travelled from Goa to Mumbai to express his love and devotion to Goa and Konkani music.
