Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is celebrated today the 15th August with Goa's delicacy called "Patoleos" made of a paste of ground local rice spread over turmeric leaves and stuffed with a mixture of scraped coconut, cardamom powder and jaggery.

Happy Independence Day 2020
In India Independence Day is celebrated on August 15 annually to pay
tribute to the leaders who fought for India's freedom in the past. This
year India will celebrate its 74th Independence Day. In the photo above one can see the Indian Tricolour flying high over "Atal Setu" the cable-stayed bridge in Goa that runs between Panaji and Porvorim.

St. Alex is the parton saint of Calangute. I clicked this photo on my way back from from Work. I was travelling from Panjim to Calangute and I just loved this view while I was riding my bike, so I just made a quick halt and clicked it. The world famous Calangute Beach, also known as the queen of beaches of Goa, is situated just 5 minutes ride from the Calangute Church.
