"Maximum Gaming - Lan Center" Gaming Center Santacruz East Mumbai

A new Gaming cafe called "Maximum Gaming - Lan Center" has been set up at Santacruz East Mumbai recently. Maximum Gaming alias MAG is India's first gaming cafe to introduce the NVIDIA 3D Vision technology. Founded by Alex Dsouza, who has been in the animation education space for last five years and who is also the Director of animation institute CREATVT, MAG boosts of a collection of latest games and exceptional graphics for ultimate user experience.

The café is equipped with 18 powerful gaming PC's consisting of Intel's Core 2 Quads and Core i7's, complete with NVIDIA Physx technology. Some of the most popular games that are being played at the café include Crysis, Need For Speed - Undercover, Burnout Paradise and Red Alert 3 amongst others.

Mr. Alex D’souza shared, “We had been planning on establishing a cafe for a quite a long time, as I am a hardcore gamer myself. For a year we spoke to a lot of technology vendors like Intel, NVIDIA and also to some gaming publishing companies like Excel Interactive who handle EA games in India to provide the best solutions and best gaming infrastructure." "We are the first café to be equipped with NVIDIA’s 3D vision technology which enables the users to relish the games with stereoscopic 3D imagery. The way 3D games we meant to be played.

The café is also equipped with NVIDIA PhysX(R) so that customers can experience Realistic Gaming. Currently we are not looking at expansion through the franchisee model but are keen on coming up with our own centers across India.”
On the console front the café is currently equipped with Nintendo Wii, motion gaming console, and depending on the demand has plans to install other brands of gaming consoles as well. “Gaming is a perennially green market provided you introduce what is latest and what is best. There is no age limit to gamers. But the market hasn’t picked that well in India as there is a lack of awareness about the same. We plan to do our bit to promote gaming not only through the cafe but we are also planning to introduce courses for game programming and scripting at CREATVT,” adds Alex.

On the marketing front, MAG is planning to associate with on ground gaming events along with direct marketing promotions.
Alex shares, “Gaming is still dormant here in India as gaming is no fun sitting at home playing over the internet. It is a collaborative activity and that’s what we want to push through MAG."
"Maximum gaming has been set up so that people around Mumbai can get a true taste of what it is to play games with awesome graphics that run smoothly so one can really appreciate games for what they are and not compromise on quality. At Maximum Gaming Gamers will Collaborate, Compete and Celebrate," he concludes.

Yolanda D'Souza- First lady of football

article from http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/NEWS/City/Goa/First-lady-of-football/articleshow/4846743.cms

Yolanda D'Souza, voted player of the decade by the Women's' Football Federation of India in 1980 and the first woman to score an international hat-trick for India, will remain a class act to follow for at least a generation.

Trouble your mind a bit and imagine a hangover. Imagine a terrible morning which follows a great night of clubbing. Imagine a situation when you wake up every morning and all that you can see, and at most times, feel, is ache.

You glance through the back pages of a newspaper, and if you happen to be an ardent enthusiast of women's football in this part of the world probably living in the past chances are, you would be disappointed.

Now imagine what it is to be Yolanda D'Souza, 55, former captain of the Indian football team, striker, entertainer and, most importantly, footballer extraordinaire.

"It's time for all of us to face the truth," she says, sifting through memories when she was queen of the 100m field and the continent, her kingdom.

At a time when FIFA has struck off the Indian women's football team from its world rankings for being out of sight or rather action for more than 18 months, Yolanda reminds us of the late seventies and early eighties when women's football bettered the best in the continent and matched the rest of the world.

"Taiwan had an exceptionally strong team and was number one in Asia, but we always gave them plenty of problems. We were so strong in our belief and quality that we took the field knowing we could get the result we desired against most of the teams in the world," says Yolanda, voted the player of the decade in 1980 by the Women's' Football Federation of India.

Yolanda's story deserves to be told more so because it has the ability to instil the belief that women's football still has the ability to enchant, entertain and inspire a generation.

It may not be the case elsewhere, but at least in this part of the world, many equate football with masculinity. But, as Yolanda's story would demonstrate, that was never the case when she got enveloped by the magic of the game at a very young age.

"I would play along with my brother (Francisco) and his friends, but most of the times I was shunted to the goal. Whenever I got a chance to play up front, I would really put my best foot forward," remembers Yolanda, who grew up to become one of Goa's exemplary, if not, finest footballer.

Yolanda scored a goal in the first ever recorded women's football match, playing against a men's team appropriately called Adam's in 1973, but it was not until 1976 when Goa took part in their first Nationals at Sultanpur and Yolanda scored a bag full of goals 15 in all including two hat-tricks and announced her arrival on the big scene.

"We lost in the final against Bengal by the narrowest of margins," remembers Yolanda, dubbed the Madonna of Goan football.

The 1976 Nationals at Sultanpur was the first Goa ever participated in, and for the first time got to know what other players thought about Goa and Goans. "Since the facilities were not good enough, we wanted separate accommodations. This led to rumours that we sought a hotel elsewhere because the players wanted to enjoy their drinks! They believed we played well because we were drinking," laughs the Calangute-based artiste.

Goa hosted the 3rd edition of the National football championship in 1977 and, true to expectations, won the tournament in style, defeating twice-champions Bengal 3-0 in front a lustily cheering capacity-crowd at the Bandodkar stadium at Campal.

Goa dominated the championship from start to finish, scoring an amazing 49 goals that included roaring wins over Madhya Pradesh (25-0), Punjab (10-0), Gujarat (5-0), Manipur (6-0) and, finally, Bengal (3-0).

Goa's deadly strike pair of Succorinha Pereira (19 goals) and Yolanda (18 goals) scored 37 of the 49 goals, but often it was such a bore to score goals against the hapless opposition that even the strikers played the ball amongst themselves instead of taking aim at the goal!

"We were too strong for the other teams during Nationals. We used to score early in all the games since most of the goalkeepers remained clueless," says the stylish striker.

Yolanda's international debut came in 1976 when she, along with the likes of Rekha Karapurkar, Succorinha Pereira and Helen Fernandes, found a place in the Indian team against the visiting Swedish club BET.

She set all the venues on fire, ensuring seven victories and in the process becoming the first woman to score a hat-trick for India.

Since that memorable debut, Yolanda remained a permanent member of the Indian team until she was forced into premature retirement after the World Cup of 1981.

"Injury cut short my career. I was too scared to undergo an operation to correct the damage and instead opted to call it a day," says Yolanda, who gave up hockey and badminton which she excelled at the highest level to nurse her football dream.

Happy Friendship Day

Happy Friendship Day

Friendship is never an accident,
it is something one has to nurture over the years.
I hope every year our friendship becomes stronger
It takes time to build a castle, It takes longer to make a friend
“Happy Friendship Day to a friend”
where friendship is more precious than the richest castle
Friendship is a place where dreams are nurtured, shared, celebrated,
a place where happiness begins
There are no strings attached to a friendship, no bonds to hold or ties to bind.
Friendship stand on its own
With you beside my friend I have seen my world becoming
a beautiful place..
My dreams turning into reality
Friends like you are rare indeed, they shine just like a star
and words alone can hardly say,
how wonderful and special you are
...For when the world turns cold
and life is difficult to bear
its comforting to know, you will.forever be there
Your friendship is a treasured gift that I hold very dear,
For the love of a friend can mean so very much,
Each hour, each day, all year and I'm really glad your here.
And I am hoping you will know what warmth is in this thought..
You came into my life unexpected and God bless you...
For the many joys that your friendship's brought.

Regards

Rohan

People Flock at Panzonconi-Cuncolim to see what they believe could be an apparition of Jesus Christ

The quiet village of Panzorcoini Cuncolim Goa has been a hub of activities. Large groups of people old as well as youngsters have been queuing up in Panzorconi Cuncolim to have a glimpse of what they believed could be an apparition of Jesus Christ, but according to the church its not a appearance of Jesus Christ but some sort of space between two branches of a tree that resembles that of risen Jesus Christ. But that has not stopped the devout people from far and wide thronged to the area in thousands .
Actually its the empty space between the branches of the trees that resemble the shape of the Risen Jesus Christ, and when looked from a distance with the sky as the backdrop and the sun rays passing through the branches, does make a resemblance of the picture of the risen Jesus Christ draped in white cloth with rays (sun rays) emitting through this raised hands.
